The South West Federation was formed in 2015 and comprises 20 Member Practices, with a current patient population of 127,614, covering a large geographical area stretching from Belleek to Plumbridge,

Our current Chair is Dr Rachael Wright who has been involved in the work of the Federation for some considerable time.

The General Practice Pharmacist scheme was the first project to be introduced to the area, currently employing approximately 20 whole time equivalent Pharmacists.

Initiatives to develop Advanced Nurse Practitioners and General Practices Nurses are running in the area, with staff currently hosted in various Practices across the Federation. These aim to enhance the primary care workforce and support the transformation of services in the area.

Our main aim is to serve our Member Practices, protecting the interests of primary care and providing cost-effective centralised expertise to assist transformation.
